Politiquera?
In all my years, I have never seen a group arise as efficiently and dominantly as Cheezmeh did. This group was led by credible and dedicated community members who sought change, rather than corruption. Those involved were the likes of Jim Barton, Nena Barton, Bee Quintanilla, Mary Helen Flores, Zeke Silva, and many others. This powerhouse group led to the election of Jessica Tetreau, and the widespread of a new political movement.
Today, things have changed and this group is not what it once was an ha become exactly what it set out to destroy. The corruption in Brownsville has only grown, and pathetically the membership of Cheezmeh has only fallen. This group which was once about the people and the betterment of the community is now simply about it's leader and what is most beneficial to him personally. Now, you cannot go a day without seeing a pro-Erin post about how great she is and how under qualified Yolanda Begum is. Yes, Yolanda Begum has a strong Spanish accent. However, the difference between herself and Erin is that she has actually sincere interest and no motivation to corrupt our community. She may not be the best speaker but I'll take the more sincere individual any day out of the week. So, to all of you who still love cheezmeh, know you are essentially supporting a Politiquera with no regard for the future of this community.
Now, those individuals that led the Cheezmeh group are gone, and the ego of its leader ha only grown. This group is nothing anymore, and represents te main issue in Brownsville and Cameron County. The simple ability to buy off people for the success of an unqualified, insincere, and tasteless political candidate. So now in the famous ending of the Cheezmeh leader, peace...

Political Deception
Abel Limas. A name synonymous with corruption, deception, and of course the inferiority of many of the officials elected in Brownsville and all of Cameron County for that manner. This individual symbolizes the main problem with our political atmosphere on the county. The lack of educated, credible, and sincere politicians who will serve for their constituents rather than their growing bank accounts.
We see this example all the time with Villalobos being indicted, Limas of course, and many more who have fallen over the past years, seemingly too many to post on this blog. All of these individuals have a few things in common but the similarity I find most disturbing is the fact that they were all elected by the citizens of Brownsville or Cameron County. No matter what means these individuals used (politiqueras, paying individuals off, etc.) they were elected to serve and it is difficult to combat or question an individual who was elected by the democratic process as a regular citizen. Yes, the government eventually crashes down on them as it will inevitably on other in the near future namely the BISD Corrupt Trustees. However, what can you do as a citizen to prevent this? Go out and vote, and encourage others to vote. The reason these fools get elected is because it is very easy to win an election in which only a mediocre amount of votes are needed to get elected. If we can solve this problem, we will prevent individuals like Abel Limas, Armando Villalobos, and Pat Ahumada from even getting elected in the very first place. Together, as a community we must seek reform, because only that can save and change the political future of Brownsville and Cameron County. I greatly admire individuals such as Mary Helen Flores due to the fact that they fight for voter's rights and fair elections. She represents a large cause and I thank her for fighting for the betterment of our society and it's future. We can change the future, and as a community we must seek reform. Happy Father's Day to all and have an amazing day from my family to yours!

Issues
Hello everybody, I know right now our city is facing several different political issues, and I would like your input as to what issue you'd like for me to discuss first. This blog is about you all, The topics you all wish to discuss and find interesting are those I wish to discuss. So everyone go ahead and comment and let me know what you find interesting for us to discuss!
Welcome!
Hello everybody, I have never blogged before but due to the irrationality and corruption within our cities political entities, I feel it is necessary to voice my opinion. Corruption is no longer something we can become complacent with, and as a city we must collectively move to change the way our city is politically. We must strive for a better system in which corruption and individual interests are not the main factors towards seeking a political office. This blog will not be a transparent watch dog group that seeks to "help and protect" our community while selling out behind closer doors and living in a completely different city and attempting to control my former city. I will not promise you change, because I alone cannot achieve it. The citizens of our city are the only ones that can seek change and efficiently reach it. I will post ways I feel we can make a difference but I will not seek to form this as a political group. This is a place to voice opinions, share ideas, and most importantly we must always strive to be respectful. Bashing of political candidates without merit or reasoning will not be tolerated, however I vow to respect your opinion and ask you to voice your reasoning, if any. Finally, this is a blog for Brownsville, it's citizens, and most importantly a blog to exploit... The truth.
